The Logic Behind The Game
Trekkr isn’t just a leaderboard. It’s a sophisticated mathematical engine designed to bring professional-grade analytics to every Padel court.
The ELO
Rating System
The ELO rating system is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of players in zero-sum games. Originally designed for chess, we have adapted it specifically for the dynamic environment of Padel.
Unlike static rankings, ELO is fluid. Your points increase when you win and decrease when you lose. The amount of points gained or lost depends on the rating of your opponents.
Win Against Pros
Beating a higher-ranked player yields significantly more points than beating a beginner.
Fair Defeat
Losing to a much stronger opponent results in a minimal point deduction.
Consistency
Your rating stabilizes over time, accurately reflecting your true competitive standing.
Why 1,350?
Every new player in the Trekkr ecosystem starts with an initial rating of 1,350 points. This isn't a random number—it represents the baseline of the "Lower Bronze" tier.
Standardization
Provides a uniform starting point for all athletes, ensuring the math remains balanced across the entire network.
Room to Grow
Starting at 1,350 allows beginners to find their level quickly while leaving ample space for the "Beginner" tier below if needed.
Fair Accuracy
After just 5–10 matches, the system calibrates to your true skill, moving you up or down from the 1,350 anchor.
The 5 Pillars of Accuracy
Our algorithm considers five key variables to ensure your rating is the most accurate reflection of your skill level in the market.
Partner Dynamics
Calculates individual ratings based on your and your partner’s ELO compared to your opponents.
Win Prediction
Points are weighted by the probability of winning. Beating a stronger team yields higher rewards.
Match Outcome
Uses international standards: 1 for a win, 0.5 for a draw, and 0 for a loss.
Margin of Victory
Every point matters. Winning by a large margin (MoV) provides a multiplier to your ELO gain.
K-Factor Calibration
New players (K=50) move faster to find their rank; seasoned players (K=32) maintain stability.
